November 1st officially marks the start of cozy season. Shorter days mean darker nights and more opportunities to warm up your home with joyful practices and ambiance.

Throughout November, I’ll be sharing cozy living tips on the podcast and on my newsletter to help you savor the season.

Create a Cozy Glow

Dim your lights for a cozy glow before bed. Switch bright ceiling lights for softer lamps and candles in the evening. Dimming your lights calms your mind and body for sleep. Soft orange lights also create a cozy ambiance for your evening routine.

Especially as the time falls back this weekend, be intentional about how you light your home. Warm up your bedroom with soft sunset shades of orange.

For tips about how to light your home for evening coziness, read The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking. He talks about the science of lighting to help you maximize your evening hygge rituals.

I loved all the author’s intentionality for bringing hygge into your home. I enjoyed the audiobook version of this book. If you’re interested in getting the audiobook read by the author himself, download it now.

Warm Up Your Evening

Before it’s Christmas time and we break out the Christmas lights, we can still savor that warm evening glow during this first part of the cozy season.

Light a candle or use decorative battery candles. Turn on a cozy ambiance video on YouTube.

Turn down your brighter lights for smaller lamps throughout your home.
