Hi, I’m Lexi, a blogger, creator, and podcast host of the Exploring Over Coffee. I’m a proud Howard University graduate (shoutout Class of ‘22!) and DMV native.

Exploring new places and activities has been part of my life as long as I can remember. I was homeschooled and loved having all sorts of adventures in my community growing up. Now, I love pouring that same energy into my content for culturally-infused fun. Through my podcast and other content, I strive to give you new ideas to explore fun experiences.

My Media Journey & Mission

I grew up reading American Girl, watching PBS shows, and rewatching Disney movies until I had them memorized. I didn't realize then how much those things were shaping me. American Girl blended culture, lifestyle, and history content together through books and magazines. It showed me the power of storytelling for empowerment. PBS programs emphasized exploration through all its children’s content, highlighting that you have the power to make a difference in your community. Disney is a media marvel, carrying audiences young and old through inspiring stories. There are powerful messages of self-determination in its art that I still return to as an adult for an inspiring boost.

I fell in love with media and became curious about how to craft that kind of storytelling myself.

That's what Explore By Lexi is. My hope is that the stories you find here do for you what my childhood media did for me.

My mission is to inspire you to explore new things, pour into yourself, and make life an adventure.

Things I Love

• Musicals! Hadestown and The Wiz are my favorites

• Books. I'll jump from fantasy to memoir to dystopian without warning.

• Crochet and loom knitting. I can’t wait until I can crochet my own cozy blanket.

• Museums and theme parks. I love a trip to a Smithsonian Museum or Busch Gardens.

• Coffee. Join me for a cute coffee break on my podcast.

• Cozy games like Stardew Valley
