My Fall Ins and Outs: Journaling Prompt for Seasonal Mindfulness
Step into the season with a fresh perspective
Autumn shows the beauty of letting go and allowing what’s holding us back to fall away.
A new season can feel like a new start. A new chance to change our perspective. A new opportunity to pursue joy every day.
That mindset is fueling my Fall Ins and Outs. There’s only so much I can hold at once. If I let go of what is, I can let what will be fall into place.
Let go and let be. Give away and receive.
I’m listing my ins and outs as a reminder for my season. Give this journaling exercise a try and see where you land.
Falling away from expectations
Life never goes how you plan. For someone living with post-viral issues that affect every part of my day, sometimes I just have to let expectations of how things should be fall away and flow where life intends to take me.
Falling away from looking outward for answers
Listening to your inner voice is calming. I can feel the difference internally when I trust my instinct versus seek outside approval. There’s nothing wrong with receiving input, but when the need for approval consumes every action you take, you end up stuck in place with the fear of going in the wrong direction.
Falling away from what’s not pouring into me
If a well’s run dry, why keep going to it for water? Sometimes it’s better to walk away and search for what you’re looking for. It’s a tough lesson, but a necessary one. I’m excited to move forward to new nourishing spaces.
Falling into a routine that fuels me
My health journey has taken me on some unexpected side quests. I’m learning to build routines that support the life I’m living now. There is time and space for a lifestyle that pours into me mind, body, and spirit.
Falling into a new mindset
Live audaciously. I’m stepping into a new mindset centered around boldness. Treating rejection as redirection gives energy to your intentions. Who knows where you will explore by living with curiosity and courage.
Falling into fulfillment
If I’m always waiting for tomorrow, how could I know when I’ve arrived? Life is what you make it. Every day can be an adventure if you make it one. Instead of imagining my dream life as a day yet to be, I’m stepping into that day today. Everything I desire is on the way. By accepting this as fact, I can live freely with that truth today.
Now it’s your turn. Your Fall Ins & Outs.
What’s falling away? What’s falling in?
What expectations, habits, fears, relationships, obligations, or thought patterns are you ready to release?
What’s one thing you’re ready to stop waiting for? What’s one small way you can live it now?
Take a few minutes and jot down anything that comes to mind.
Organize your list into ins and outs. Keep your list somewhere you can see it for anytime you need a reminder.
