What if I told you there’s a place where Legos come to life? A place where you can build, play, game, create, and explore all things Lego?
It’s the Lego Discovery Center! There are locations all over the world from the US and the UK, to Australia and Japan.
Kids and families can explore all year round. And for the adults who are kids at heart, you can enjoy special adult nights to bring your inner child to life.
I did just that at their Halloween Brick-or-Treat Adult Night.
I had a boo-tastic time at Lego Discovery’s DC location at the Virginia Springfield Mall. Not only did I get to explore the Discovery Center, I also got to enjoy a whole Halloween party with fellow Lego lovers.

Let’s explore the details from my Lego Discovery Center visit, from creative builds to spooky fun!
Building Excitement
I heard about this event last year but couldn’t make it. This year, I was extra excited to attend.
The Lego Discovery Center catches your attention before you even step inside. Between the Lego displays outside the mall and the colorful entrance decor, you just know something fun is waiting beyond those doors.
Everybody was so excited heading into the Brick-or-Treat Party. From young adults to seniors, everybody was feeling the spooky spirit.
Dressing up for Halloween was encouraged!
My brother and I wore Peanuts Halloween sweatshirts. Other guests had Lego-inspired looks and Halloween gear. One of the activities was a costume contest, and lots of people went all out. Mythical creatures, superheroes, movie characters, and funny food costumes added to the party’s atmosphere.
At check-in, we received QR code photo cards and Halloween treat bags, a really sweet touch. Each bag included candy, a glow stick, a raffle ticket, and a mini event guide.
After creating our minifigures and snapping a picture at the Lego photo booth, we were ready to explore the party!
Legos, Games, Prizes, Oh My!
Brick-or-Treat Night was a spooktacular delight, blending Halloween haunts and playful imagination. Not only did we get to explore everything the Lego Discovery Center has to offer, we also collected raffle tickets along the way for fun prizes.
Our first stop was the Imagination Express, a trackless dark ride that takes you through whimsical Lego scenery and an interactive mini game. With your wand, you collect points by catching bubbles, stars, and other surprises.
I was impressed by how detailed it was–especially considering the attraction is inside a mall! A full points system, smooth trackless technology, creative Lego displays, and a photo finish, wow. The ride operators added to the fun, bringing playful energy as they explained the ride and handed us our second raffle ticket of the night.
Next, we set our sights on the raffle table.
So many prizes!
I couldn’t believe how many sets were available to win. Along with prizes for the Halloween building challenge and costume contest winners, there were more than ten Lego sets you could enter to win with raffle tickets.
Lots of exciting Lego sets, too: pop-culture builds, massive vehicles, ornate landmarks, and even two bouquets from the Lego Botanical Collection. My brother and I were even more motivated to explore the party’s activities for a chance to win.
We earned raffle tickets for building in the Creative Club, watching a short film in the 4D Cinema, and even playing rock-paper-scissors with a staffer. All this earned us five chances to win, not too shabby.
While searching for raffle tickets, we enjoyed vibrant Lego displays throughout the Discovery Center. My favorite builds were the recreations of Washington, DC.
A local adult Lego builders’ club, NOVA-LUG, showcased their replica of DC’s Tidal Basin during the Cherry Blossom Season.
Love all the little details. They even put petals on the water.
It took them over 20 hours to create. The display even included the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
Inside Mini World’s city of Legos, there is a giant recreation of downtown DC.
This section has so many intricate details from the architecture and city streets to a hidden Metro train stop beneath the surface. The Nationals Park baseball stadium was re-imagined as “Rationals Park,” complete with a working Jumbotron and interactive pinball game on the baseball field.
Mini World doesn’t end there, fantasy worlds and interactive scenes decorate every corner of the exhibit.
I can only imagine how excited kids feel exploring Mini World. It must feel larger than life, especially since they are at eye level with all the display cases.
The adults at the Brick-or-Treat party definitely felt the wonder, too. I saw lots of glowing smiles and curiosity at the scenery. You can’t help but feel joyful walking through the creative displays.
So much to see and do, the party was almost over before we knew it. We had just enough time to place our final raffle tickets, sip a drink from the Sugar Rim Bar, and grab a seat for the main events.
Drumroll, Please
The night’s main events were the Building Challenge, Costume Contest, and Lego Raffle. After the crowd-favorite knight costume and the building challenge winners claimed their prizes, it was time for the raffle.
There was a buzz in the room as everyone pulled out their raffle tickets and counted their chances to win. Round by round, cheers erupted from the crowd as lucky winners ran up to claim their prizes.
I had split my tickets between the two Lego Botanical Collection bouquet sets. I was so caught up in the excitement of seeing people win that I almost missed when they drew the tickets for the bouquet sets! I didn’t win the first bouquet and assumed my tickets would not get called for the second bouquet.
Then the staffer pulled out a ticket for the Wildflower Bouquet…and it was mine! I was thrilled to head up and claim my prize. Not only was this a fantastic Halloween party, but I also won a Lego set that I’ve wanted for years.
Before leaving, the staffers shared the next Adult Night would be in December. If you love creativity, nostalgia, or a good themed night out, I highly recommend checking out a Lego Discovery Center Adult Night near you.

It was wonderful celebrating Halloween Lego-style at the Brick-or-Treat event. Taking time for play, imagination, and creativity is important no matter how old you are. You never know what you’ll discover when you make space to connect, create, and explore.
